Plumbing fundamentals 1

Objectives include but are not limited to:
- Read and Interpret System of Measurements
- Identify Plumbing Pipes and Fittings
- Identify and Operate Basic Plumbing Hand and Power Tools
- Measure, Cut and Solvent Weld PVC Pipes
- Measure, Cut and Thread GWI Pipes
- Read and Interpret Basic Isometric Sketches
- Create Material/Quantity Listing
- Assemble Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) Pipes and Fittings
- Assemble Galvanize Wrought Iron (GWI) Pipes and Fittings
- Assemble Drain Waste & Vent (DWV) Pipes and Fittings
- Install Plumbing Fixtures WC, SH and LB (ie toilet, shower, sink)
- Perform Basic Fixture Maintenance
Entry requirements
Tools: Students will be required to bring a tool kit of basic tools:
- Hack-saw set (with Lennox blades) OR 12” Plumbers PVC bar saw
- 1/8”-2” PVC Pipe cutter
- 8” Adjustable pliers (slip joint)
- 12” Adjustable pliers (slip joint)
- Measuring tape
- Screwdriver (flat/Phillip)
- 1’ Plumber level (3 spirits)
- 8” Spanner (crescent wrench)
Certification
- City and Guilds of London Skills Foundation Certificate (Basic Plumbing)
- ATC Plumbing Foundation Skills Supplementary Certificate
Registration requirement
Students must have the following to register for standard programmes, short courses and workshops:
- Proof of payment of non-refundable registration fee and course fee if applicable. (Confirm amount to be paid and important deadlines by calling or WhatsApping 868-758-3760 and 868-788-0403).
- All Registration Documents and Information:
- Valid Email Address
- Picture of a valid ID/DP/Passport (or Birth Certificate)
Registration Steps
- Confirm required programme fees to register and start dates of programmes (call or WhatsApp 788-0403 or 758-3760).
- WhatsApp evidence of successful payment of fees to 788-0403 or 758-3760 along with a picture of your ID/DP/birth certificate and email address.
- Complete the online registration form which will be whatsApped to you by ATC staff.
