Health and Safety

These programmes prepare students for careers in health and safety. These programmes can also provide managers, supervisors and others with health and safety duties with the knowledge, skills and qualifications to perform their jobs competently. Workers with health and safety careers or obligations are typically responsible for evaluating work places and practices to ensure they are safe and adhere to the relevant safety legislation. They generally also help to plan, execute, monitor and assess the safeguards that companies employ, and work to minimise occupational health and safety issues and risks.
