Course content

Students will study and practice electrical installation and wiring.

Papers and assessments required for completion of this programme include:

2850-54-201 Working in engineering
2850-54-202 Principles of engineering technology
2850-54-256 Principles of electrical and electronics technology
2850-54-211 Maintaining electrical wiring support systems
2850-54-222 Maintaining electrical equipment and systems
2850-54-223 Wiring and testing electrical circuits

Who should enroll in this programme?

This programme is for:

  • persons who want to become electricians/wiremen and who have little or no experience in electrical wiring
  • persons who would like to apply for the Wireman’s Licence
  • persons who want multiple career options; i.e. options to pursue a career as a wireman, an electrician and an electrical engineering technician
  • persons who would like to have an internationally recognized qualification

Entry requirements

To qualify for entry into this programme, students should have a secondary school education.

Learning pathways and enhancement programmes

Students should also consider enrolling in our Level 3 (Elec.) programme to develop their electrical and electronics technician knowledge and expertise.

Certification

On successful completion of this programme, students will receive certification from the City & Guilds of London Institute and Automation Technology College and be eligible to apply for the Wireman’s Licence at the Electrical Inspectorate which certifies electricians in Trinidad and Tobago.

  • City & Guilds Certification: Level 2 Diploma in Engineering IVQ – Electrical and Electronics Technology (2850-54)
  • ATC Certification: Wireman/Electrician Supplementary Training

Registration requirement

Students must have the following to register for standard programmes, short courses and workshops:

  1. Proof of payment of non-refundable registration fee and course fee if applicable. (Confirm amount to be paid and important deadlines by calling or WhatsApping 868-758-3760 and 868-788-0403).
  2. All Registration Documents and Information:
    • Valid Email Address
    • Picture of a valid ID/DP/Passport (or Birth Certificate)

Registration Steps

  1. Confirm required programme fees to register and start dates of programmes (call or WhatsApp 788-0403 or 758-3760).
  2. WhatsApp evidence of successful payment of fees to 788-0403 or 758-3760 along with a picture of your ID/DP/birth certificate and email address.
  3. Complete the online registration form which will be whatsApped to you by ATC staff.
